removing reaer speakers...pain in the ass. you have to remove the rear seat...the bottom, it pops up with a tug on it. Once out, the side cushions come out with a 12mm socket. Once off, 2 screws in the rear deck...phillips (they are hidden behind caps). The rear deck slides out and they ya go. they are 6 12" OEM...but a 6X9 will fit good as well. Removing the deck is easier, the trim piece around the radio can be pried out with a screwdriver...falthead, and then you have 4 10mm bolts holding the radio in...that is it on a gen 3. As for what to get...check around, everyone has an opinion. I went with JVC and MTX. PM me with probs

The rear speaker removal has been talked about ALOT here. Do a search and you will find stuff like this http://rayrayonline.bravehost.com/rearspeaker1.htm That'll walk you through it.

It sounds like you want to do a whole system, what do you want to spend?

For the deck removal check out this link. http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs...PDF/869013.pdf

I'd also rec. replacing your front speakers with components and getting an external amp to power them. This will make the best improvement on the stereo system.

ok guys thx for responding..

i have a cd player which i took out of my other car because i got a dvd player in that one.. anyway this cd player is a Kenwood KDC-2022 CD Player ..

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ySEToAH...p?i=113KDC2022

i read that pfd.. its pretty usefull.. i will try to take out the stock one but if i cant then i'll take it to bestbuy cuz they'll put in the new one for $15...

any way for the rear speakers i will either get:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1074787609765

or these : http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1099389702308

i will prolly get an amp later on to power the speakers then prolly get 2 subwoofers..

what kind of nice powerful amp do you guys recommend for a decent price. i can spent under $200 for the amp lol

i just installed the cd player by myself.. apparently best buy charges $55 for labor and $20 for the kit lol... i just bought the kit and did it my self..

now i have a problem... the parking lights on my car wont turn on... they turn on when i open the door with my remote control... but they wont turn on if i manually try to turn them on from the inside.. and the light for the guages and the light on the gear wont turn on either...

what could that prob be... could it be a fuse?

Stay away from both of those speakers.

You can get some Pioneer Rev series 6x9's for like 89 bucks online.

IMO don't run any rear speakers, just use the money on better front speakers, and get an amp for them.

Did you follow the installdr directions? Take another look at that and see if you wired it up wrong.

do you have a link to how you wire up an amp. I've gotten all the steps down but the amps. for my summer radio setup.

yea i did the wiring correctly... there isnt any lights wire in the radio....

but the dimmer on the left side of the steering wheel did control the amount of light to display on the stock radio...

the new cd player is working perfectly... just something wrong with the parking lights... they normally flash when you use the security alarm to open the doors... but just wont work if you try to turn them on from the inside..?

I think stock radios and aftermarket radios use the dim function differently. Stock head units can accept dim by degrees, the dial used to dim the clock and 'meters on your dash worked for the HU as well. I think the only thing that aftermarket HUs will accept for dimming is whether or not the headlights are on. My Alpine HU doesnt even dim at all, not automatically.
I just tinkered with my alarm this morning. Toggle the Valet Switch on and off, or visa versa (the switch would be about at your left shin while driving.) My parking lights started working with the alarm after that.

If you're somewhat serious about your car stereo stop looking at crap from Bestbuy. What's your budget and what are you trying to get right now? Subs, amps, speakers?, what all do you own already.
