Good and Affordable subs

Alot of people don't know that there are alot of good subs out there that don't cost too much money. I hope to deter people here from buying stuff like Rockhard Prostate and stuff like Audiobahn and Best Buy crap. So here it is, a list of not so mainstream subs that will blow away the mainstream crap in SQ and Output.

Ascendant Audio This is a newer company that has had ALOT of praise in not only the Car audio industry but also home audio. The Atlas is known for very good sound quality and good SPL. Step up to the Avalanche if you want an awesome SQL sub.

Image Dynamics My favorite. The ID and IDQ subs are some of the best sound quality subs around. The IDMAX is known as one of the best SQL subs on the market, not exactly cheap though. www.sounddomain.com is an authorized dealer for ID.

Arc Audio subs are made by Image Dynamics. The Arc series is basically an upgraded version of the IDQ sub. Excellent SQ here.

Adire Audio makes excellent subs, the Shiva is only 125 and is a nice sub. The Brahma is their SQL sub and is good sub, very power hungry though and not as effecient as the IDMAX

RE Audio is another good company. The RE SE is low priced.

For pricing on Adire and RE check out www.visionaryaudio.com You might have to email them for pricing.

Another good company is Soundsplinter Both of the subs they make are really nice. DrtySthV6SE is running the RL-p's

Elemental Designs are very nice subs.

I'd like to add MTX and coustic to that list, their entry lines are good and they have high end that isn't too outrageous...just my 2 cents

kickers are probably a better choice than mtx...
dont go sony
dont go cheap pioneer
definatly dont go cheap kenwood
polks are good in the right application
oh yea and dont go cheap jbl

in my opinion...

*note upper end of most of these brands are fine, but entry levels are lacking*

I thought your title said affordable ID Max and Brahmas arent cheap, but they are far better than MTX, Kicker, Rockford and all those other mainstream stuff.

hey hey thanks for the mention, i finally have everything installed so this weekend look for new pics in the Pics Forum

i definately wouldnt leave out Incriminator Audio. Their 187's and Lethal Injections are very affordable subs and their Death Penalty is a monster but definately not cheap.

lol I know, IDMAX isn't cheap, but I gotta mention them.

ID and IDQ are damn well priced for how awesome they sound.

They're pretty mainstream and sound fairly boomy. Their titaniums are ok, their other ones are ehh. They used to be better in my opinion, but they're not bad for the price.

I was eyeing those subs too, they look nice.

Hey speaking of your SS RL-p's, what have you compared them to? How accurate and fast are they?

i agree...cerwin-vega is def. mainstream. They havnt been as mainstream lately but they never completely fell out of favor...strokers used to be really popular in old spl days...least thats what i hear
