i got some 240w Xplodes (6x9)'s about 2 weeks ago.. ( i know there not that special but im working on limited budget) and.. everything still sounds like crap.. yeah.. a lil more bass and all from factory. but im just not getting a good sound.. igot a pioneer 180 watt deck.. but.. the back.. JUSTT doesnt sound like its putting out that much volume .. at allll
HELPPP>.. im a music guy.. and.. thats just not good in my car
maybe miss matching positive and negitive wires ??? .. just no volume.. well there is.. but just not that loud.. and the volume gets really BADDD if i turn it up to loud the RMS wattage on speakers is still above my max Watt output on my stereo plz give me some ideas thanx
if i have to.. would putting them in a Box.. and stuffin them in the trunk do Anyting ?
Make sure your ground and positive are hooked up right just like you said. Xplod interior speakers are crap. 180w decks are super crap. Get a better deck and you will at least get some decent power from those sonys. I think the RMS issues are coming from your deck. Is the volume worse than before?
IMO-I think you could either spend a lot of money on really good interior speakers that will kick out bass or you could spend the same amount and get a serious box that will give you a heart attack. It really depends on your preference. I prefer a box but it does add weight. Just get a new deck. I have a Sony Deck, Sony Subs, and Sony Amp and I love them. Sony is by far not the best but it depends on what you're using it for. It's not for competition. I only spent $420 on the whole system. I have a 208watt deck and my interior speaks handle it great with the box in the trunk.

how is it possible that ur h/u makes 180watts?? most deck top of at 25watts rms and 50watts peak power. right?
some don't...some are actually 160w max..it depends. It may acutually be 180watts max but the RMS is really low. I had a cheap ass deck that was like that and the clarity was amazingly different when I got a more expensive deck.

yeha.. Clarity is a really big issue. .here.. im just not getting it
.. i had a CHEAPOO 80 Deck.. just bought.. and took back.. and it put out Tonzz more BASS and MUCH more clairty.. but it was only 160 Max watt.. this was without the new speakers..
.. Think Bigger Gauge wire would do anything ? i know Factory sucks
?The speakers are better than Factory.. but.. just not what i want .. the deck is about 3 years old.. thats the reason for the 180 watt cost like 300 back then ^^ sux eh
any more suggest ?

The wire is not really the problem. I personally think you should get a new deck that has at least 200w max so you can really get some sound out of your new speakers. Even if you do pay like $80 on ebay or something, make sure you get something you know sounds good. If you think a 160w max deck put out good sound then you will shit yourself if you had a 208w or a 200w.
want a "powerful" head unit? go with Panasonic. I never would have, but my buddy who ownes a shop recommended it, and I love it. not as much control as Alpine but you really get more RMS. Also, I paid $50 for Memphis 6x9s and the sound WAY better than Pioneers $120 3 ways wich i had at first.

I have a 180w Aiwa headunit w/ H-Bass and Xplode 3-ways, and I get very loud. my headunit volume numbers go up to #80 and I can bearly take it to 60 w/o making the speakers pop. I would blame the head unit. The Xplode 3-ways are crappy, but a definite improvment from stock paper crap.
I say get a new headunit.

sounds too simple to be the problem, but maybe your back and front levels are not adjusted right, like if you had more sound coming from the front and less from the back (or vise versa) then it would give some crappy crap sound...but im sure you've checked for that already
or even worse, if the settings were dominant to the left or right side haha, yeah well you get my point

Since I have subs in the trunk, I just added tweeter inside and I love the way my sound is. Everybody always asks if I have horns hidden somewhere or what kind of interior speakers I have. I just tell em stock.
hm.. yeah.. ive checked all the setting.. balance.. fader
but i do have a question
What is FIE ? and SLA ?.. these 2 play a significant role in the VOLUME for more distortion or.. louder bass..
FIE is more like.. Watt output.. so ive concluded.. may be wrong..
Sla.. again as ive concluded.. is more lower the HIGH.. and let out more LOW
any help with this ?
but i think i will just settle down and bye a new Deck
