that big ass MTX sub
just a few off the top of my head, there are many that are as good as or better that W7, but dont get me wrong W7s are great subs, i dont know much about Orions
The W7 sounds a little better, but the H2 gets a little louder. Comparitive subs, H2 is the better value in my opinion... as are the brands listed above.
personally i have the MTX 9500 12". it is a beast. i dont know what more you can get from one. i used to have the w7, but it just doesnt give the overall performance of the 9500.

you guys all have some kind of penis envy, its not the size of the sub that is going to sound good, its how its designed. These monstrous subs, require more power than your std car can give, huge boxes, and lots of power. A W7 is not effecient, it needs at least 750 watts rms, now if you step down to a W6 or W3, these are more efficient subs. And to answer you question, the W7 is a better SQL sub than the Orion, now strickly SPL, maybe the orion, maybe.

I'd definately give the H2 the SPL nodd.. if you can power it.
I don't want to sound biased because I have one. I understand it's not the greatest sub out there, but I got it for a steal. You definately have to do a lot of upgrades to get it to loud though.

somebody small? No, kidding
The pic where the subs seem to fire into the bottom of the trunk, is that an isobarik application? anyone know good pros and cons to isobarik?

i agree with eddiem67 its about design and application
and it also depends on if you want just one sub or more
w7 is def an sq sub and orion has the stigma of leaning more toward spl
to add to the list of giant subs that take crap loads of power
diamond TDX
eclipse titaniums
down the road i want to add 3 13inch jl w7's to my car. but that not going to happen for a while
be prepared to get a new alternator and/or maybe a second battery(with battery isolator)
it will sound really good but they need more juice than a factory charging system can provide
especially if youve got amps on your mids and highs
its reasonable to expect a minimum of 6-700 bucks just in charging system upgrades
assuming you only have a stock alternator and battery
and depending on how much power you put to each one
