They're not exactly top notch. You can probably do better for the money. What kind of power do you need and how much are you looking to spend? What are you powering?

I've read many a review on PA and I hear they're horrible, as well as a pain to install. You can do much better for the money. I just bought an MTX421D that does 420 watts, and I got it for like $170. Trust me, you can do a lot better. I'll be running my two Alpine SWE-1241's off of the one amp (210 watts RMS each) so it works out perfectly for me. You can find tons of reviews if you google something like "Power Acoustic Amplifier Reviews." Have fun!

if you dont already have the infinity sub, i might advise you looking into some other options
also....cam2xrunner knows his stuff take his advise

there are lots of affordable options out there

dont hop into something without researching it

there are lots of great subs that are inexpensive and decent quality especially 12's

read reviews
if the equipment has lots of bad reviews dont get it

EBAY!!! you can find killer equipment NEW for cheap on ebay
search around

i want the infinity sub cus my friend had one and its AMAZING!!!!

all im worried about is the amp

the wiring is confusing me too...since the sub is a dual 4 ohm, will that amp which has 300 rms bridged at 4 ohms be able to deliver enough juice to that sub???

The infinity Reference isn't a bad sub for the money( 60 bucks )

If that's all you're looking to spend that's a good choice. If you don't mind spending 130 get an ID10V3

I really like the Zed Audio amps. The minilith is 200 bucks and is supposed to be a very good sounding class D amp.

http://www.zedaudio.com/products.html#Minilith

But since you were looking at spending 300 for an amp and I figured the sub costs 60, you're looking to spend around 350? Right? So if you get the Zed you'll have 150+ to spend on a sub? Am I right or is your budget less than that?

If that's your budget get a better sub or two or three of those Infinities

Note to the public: Alpine has just released a new amp line that I am totally getting into. the MRV-F345. 75x4wrms@4ohms, 150x4wrms@2ohms. For people using subs about like mine and what Erbe is looking at, this is good news. My sub is 300rms, and the 345 can deliver 75x2 for the front speaks and 300x1 for the sub, or when I get my 2nd sub it can do 300x2 (or 150x4, whichever way you want to look at it)
runs at just about 300, if you look in the right place (240 ish if you trust ebay)

dual 4 ohm means if you wire it in parallel you will get a 2 ohm load
an amp running at 2 ohms will play louder
most sub amps are 2 ohm stable *dont assume make sure the specs say this*

to wire your sub in parallel is simple

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...men333/dvc.jpg

this should give you an idea

a 75 watts x 2 channel amp @ 4 ohms
will have 300 watts x 1 channel @ 2 ohms if its bridgable and stable at 2 ohms

hope im not throwing too many numbers at you
but for that sub 300 watts shouldnt underpower it

Are you getting an amp for your front channels too? If within the budget that'd be a good amp for the whole system. I can probably get it a little cheaper if you were insterested.

Less than $450 for sub amp, sub, enclosure, wiring? What does the $450 limit us to? Are you buying from a dealer or online?

What kind of sub do you want? SPL or SQ. What combination of the two do you want.
