Alpine Type-X subs

Question...Just bought two 12" alpine type-x subs that will be powered by a JBL bp1200.1 amp...will I most likely need a new battery? Like a stinger audio battery or something?

Thanks...

optima yellow top if you are gonna get a new battery

what kind of vehicle is it?

if its a small car you might have to get a new alternator
if its a truck with extra alternator juice you might be alright with the stock alt

are you runnin other amps or just the one sub amp?

o yea...and do the "big three" (upgrade the stock connections between the battery and the frame, the alternator and the battery...and the ground to the block)(i think theres a thread about this somewhere)

You dont necessarily have to have a new battery (but definatly not a bad idea). Like Klaymen said an optima yellow top would be good, and or, a new (stronger than stock alternator) expessially with a system like that..
oo btw you could also buy a capsitor to harness more energy for the subs and keep the flow more constant.

Big 3

Irragi Alternator Group buy 2 more weeks left if you want to take advantage of that.

Definitely do the big 3 first, then a deep cycle battery, then Alternator. A cap isn't really neccesary.

The car is a 94 camry v6...already have a cap installed...and I do have another amp installed running the 6x9's and the 6.5 in the front. I was checking out some batteries on ebay and they have those stinger audio batteries for $135...are those any good?

Thanks for the help all.

Another question...when I do change the battery...what will reset? I know the stereo settings will reset...what about my 2way pager alarm?...is there any tricks to changing a battery when you already have stuff connected to it?

Thanks.

If you compare the reserve capacity of the stinger batteries on ebay to the Optima's you'll see the Optima's better for around the same price.

The Stinger sp1000 is a really good battery, and I'd take it over the Optima, but it's like 70 bucks more.

I'd go with the Optima if you don't want to pay for the better Stinger.
Also check your local phone book for battery wholesalers in your area. You can probably get one cheaper and not have to pay for shipping. Costco also sells Optima batteries.

There's other batteries available online too, but The yellowtop is the most commonly used.

It looks like the Odyssey(stinger) batteries are the best for the money.

If you can fit it go with the pc1700mjt That thing is SICK
And it's the same price as the sp1000
http://www.batterymart.com/battery.m...source=froogle

If you want to save some money on the SP1000 get the Odyssey PC1200MJT It sells for 130 +- plus shipping, only difference between the two is 80 cold cranking amps.

Oh and you can try bidding on this battery
