Depends how the speakers are wired.

I'm guessing that right now you have 2 speakers on each channel. And the speakers are wired in parallel or series.

So for now your running at 2 or 8 ohm stereo.

As long as the amp can handle the load and the speakers are wired correctly, I don't see any problems.

Just keep in mind that the amp is going to draw more current. It has to work harder to push 6 speakers instead of 4.

By the way, why do you have 4 mids?

You can't unless you do it in series. If you do it parallel definitely gonna over load the amp. Most speaker are 4 ohms. If you run 3 on 1 channel you going to be at 1 ohm or lower bridged. Kaboom is the last thing you'll hear from those speakers.

if you are going to add another set i would add a 4 channel amp
its not necessarily a good idea to run 6 midrange speakers off of one two channel amp...even if you wire it correctly..sound quality is going to be iffy depending on speakers and amp

stereo speakers like to be run at 4 ohms
most amps degrade in quality when dropped to 2 ohms
this is fine for subs because the difference is not noticible
but for mids and highs, hooking up 6 speakers will cause a noticible difference than hooking up each speaker to its own channel (one set on the present amp and two sets on a four channel)

this is not to say you cant do it
it will sound better if you add another amp

to wire 6 speakers to a two channel: wire two parallel and one series to each channel, and i think that should put you at 6 ohms per channel....which means you are losing power from the amp...imo...its a bad idea ....more speakers and less wattage
if you want to add more speakers...add another amp

Ohms are the resistance in the circuit.

Think of it as being a type of current delivered from your amp. Your amp produces power, but will produce resistence based on the way you have your speakers wired up. If your amp can't handle the load, you can damage it or your speakers. As you lose resistence you gain power/wattage. Therefore the lower the ohm you're running the more power you will be sending. Just make sure your amp/speakers can handle it.
