Of course this has been done before and as time goes by, there are new ones released, prices change and so on. As to date, what would you guys recommend that I should buy?
I'm planning on buying 2 PAIRS and wiring them with my Alpines that came with my car. I dont want to buy an amp for these because I have no money, but that what I did with my previous tweeters and my system sounded clean as hell (Not to sound conceited, but mine sounded better than all my friends' system and they told me that). I'm also looking for something that is small that I can hide easier and can handle alot of power (won't blow like my other cheap ones). I hope not to top $120 for both pairs, but if there's anything worth it that slightly tops it, then I still take it into consideration. I've looked at some myself already but don't know what is really worth the buck. Thanks in advance.
not bad tweeters at all. Looking into it more, you CAN score last years model MTX tweeters for about 40 a pair... I got my replacements 4 months ago like that. Kickers do sound nice though
Actually kicker isn't the top, but isn't the bottom by a long shot, their componenets are pretty good, and they make awesome midbass drivers (I have a pair of 6x9 8 ohm free air midbass drivers in my camry.....sounds awesome). Personally I would go for MTX, you should have a good shot of getting MTX thunder 6000 tweeters (2 pairs) and staying in your budget
How are you planning on wiring them into the system, are you aware that you'll be dropping the ohm loads to the cd player, and it might not be able to handle that.
What kind of alpine's are you using now? IMO instead of just adding some tweeters to the speakers you have, why not just upgrade to an amp that will make those alpine's come alive.

I prefer silk ones, atleast those are the ones I did use. I do have an Amp that powers my 2 Pioneer subs already and I didn't want to take power from that, but with tweeters I can get by using it. I have an extra pairs of 6x9's facing the back under the two front seats already connected to the rear 6x9's. I guess you can say my car's turning into a wiring nightmare My car is in the US so I can't remember exactly which model my player is. It appears to be cheap Alpine because it only supports CD (not WMA, MP3), but it has the tilt thing to it. The tweeters I had look damn close to the LPG 26NFA's also. I might stick with the MTX's because they have a crossover, which I don't have already. Thanks

So you have 4 rear speakers being powered off the rear channels of the headunit, and front speakers powered off the front channels?
That doesn't sound right. And you can't tap into the sub amp to drive some tweeters, that just doesn't work.
If that's what you got going I would rec. disconnecting a pair of those rear speakers.
And instead of adding tweeters to the car, maybe just upgrade to some better front components and maybe a 2 channel amp for them.

My amp had some weird channel switching thing (I can't remember what it was), but by default, I couldn't use the subs and the tweeters at the same time. After I switched it, my tweeters did work, but there was slight distortion, almost unnoticable, but it was there. I have a Rockford amp if that helps.
The setup was my 3-ways (Sorry, I said 6x9's) under the seats, piggybacking from the rear 6x9's in the rear (to the headunit) and the front ones to the headunit itself. If I have no room for those tweeters, I'd rather disconnect those 3-ways and replacing them with the tweeters. At this point power isn't my concern because everything sounds nicely, but I do want to avoid any high overload if I have any
