I know this has been hit on elsewhere, but...

I couldn't really find a straight answer. I am trying to find a way to rig up my new 2005 Corolla with the audio value package to connect with my iPod. I was wondering if the amp is separate or inside the stereo. My friend is an electrical engineer and could probably rig it up that way. Anyone know?

Thanks

Do you have the JBL package? If it says JBL on it then you have an external amp.

But I don't think it matters either way for what you are trying to do. What you need is an auxilary convertor. You can use this Ipod specific one

Or you can use this type

No, this is the non-JBL one. Would that converter thing get rid of my ability to play CDs in my front-loading player, or just add the ability to play my iPod?

You would still be able to use the CD player, when you want to switch to Ipod, I believe you have to hold down the CD button.

Here's another Ipod specific adaptor for less than the other one.

Do a search here on TN for the keywords corolla ipod

Clarification

Okay, so just to be clear, mine is the 6-disc in-dash changer (non-JBL version)... is it likely to still have the external changer connection that the TOY03 uses?

If so, I may look into purchasing this (even though I spent all my money on the car itself)

How about this...

Scosche FM-MOD01 Modulator
Play your iPod, satellite radio tuner, or other portable music player through any FM car stereo!

Nah, don't get that, it will degrade the sound quality alot. Try to get a direct connection to the CD player.

But does anyone have an answer to my previous question? Will that Corolla have the external CD port that the TOY03 needs?
