95 Corolla Stereo Change

Hi Everyone,

I just found this forum to see if I can get some insight into some problems I ran into when changing the factory deck on my corolla.

I had no problems taking everything apart and changing all the old stuff to the get new deck in and working, but when I went to put everything back together I dont have any DASH LIGHTS. The driving cluster does not light up, none of the buttons light up... quite strange.

My best guess is that there is a loop that has been broken somewhere along the journey, but I have not yet been able to find it. I tried plugging in everything that I unplugged and changing things around... no luck.

Just wondering if anyone has a similar car, similar experience, or some knoledge of this stuff... I just want my lights back!

Thanks for any and all help anyone can give, I really appreciate it!

CK

^ agreed. Check the Fuses. You coulda blown one when hooking up the dimmer feature.

Ok, well I checked all the fuses, but perhaps I dont have one of the wire connected correctly if one of those is for a "dimmer" feature.

I guess not hooking that up would cause an incomplete circut and make things not work.

Not sure if I have any idea on how to find it...

Thoughts?

Thanks again!

the wire from the dash lights shouldn't be hooked up. if you bought a pigtail just leave it disconnected and taped off as most decks don't have a use for it

Well I have a harness from my stereo that I just wired into. I hooked up the front 2 speakers, constant, switched and ground to that. There were several other wires that were in another harness/clip, but I didnt need to use any of those. Like I said before the stereo works, but the dash lights and dimming ability is totally gone. I cant see my cluster in the dark to tell how fast I am going...

Ideas?

Thanks
