ok so i have read alot of other forums about the same issue. but i am still completely lost as to what to look for with this problem. i have 2-audiobahn 10" AW102T Subs, and an alpine MRV-F250 4/3/2 Channel Amp. I have each of the two subs wired to their own channel. I removed them a week ago to get out my spare tire and went back the next morning to reinstall them and they wouldnt hit what so ever.
I have tried the in-line fuse on the power cable, and its still ok, and i changed out the fuse on the amp and it still wont work. i also tried switching the poisitive and negative wires that go from the subs to the amp to make sure i didnt get them mixed up. still nothing. i have the RCA cables going from the headunit to the channel one and two inputs.
Is there any other possible thing that could be wrong before i come to the ultimate conclusion about my amp just being done for.
i have always had them wired to two seprerate channels. i have one sub going to channel one and the other sub going to channel two. the other two channels are just left open right now. there are no wires to them or anything. its the same setup i had before and it hit just fine. but now its really really soft
You're definitely going to want to bridge that amp(if it's bridgeable). On the amp does it indicate what channels are used to bridge the amp? It's usually the front left speaker's positve output and the front right's negative.
Then for the other channels same thing. Check your crossovers on the amp and set the LPF at around 80hz.
Also make sure that the subs are firmly mounted to the box with no gaps at the mounting edge. If you have a sealed box check to make sure it's airtight.
Also make sure to set the gains.
Or it might just be time to buy new equipment.

its sounding like it might be time to buy a new amp. not sure exactly how old the amp is, my dad bought it from a friend at work who had it in his 4Runner for along time, then got it for me two years ago. the subs are brand new. just got them at christmas time. anyway, i dont believe that it has to be bridged, because i didnt bridge it before and it hit just fine, didnt change anything on the amp from when i pulled out to the time it went back it. it was just the same as when it came out. so i am leaning toward gonig to the store tomorrow after work and getting prices. figures nothing ever works when i want it to. thanks for the help guys.
also check all your connections, totally remove all the wires from the amp and re-install them one at a time. it may be small but it could be a loose connection, I had a memphis amp that would do that and the RCA input was loose on the board. check all your connections on your head unit too, the RCA there may be loose as well.
lastly hook your subs up one at a time, verify each hits individually. if they both hit then they are wired out of phase(basicly fighting each other). Causing very little thump

Yeah the amp could have finally crapped out, but to get full potential out of the amo you'd want to wire them bridged.
Anyways, make sure to do some research on the next amp(online), and you can always save money buying online.
Also you're going to want to look at a 2 channel amp or mono channel amp with more power. That Alpine amp the way you had them hooked up was giving them about 50 watts each if that.
