crackling noise coming from speakers

I own a 93' camry with a 400 watt amp, two 10" subs, a pioneer deck, and new speakers all around. The system has worked great for the past 2 months untill yesterday when i went to crank up the volume and the speakers started crackling. When i hooked up the amp i wired the rca and power cables on opposite sited of the car so that isnt the problem. Other than that i cant figure out what the problem is. PLEASE HELP!
Thanks,
Marc

check all your connections at the speakers to see if any metals are touching each other. how high is gain set? it might be too high. did you touch any settings before this happened? if not, it might just be that metals are touching by the speaker connections. wrap them up in electrical tape and/or solder them.

sounds like you damaged a speaker, gains could have been set improperly or you played the system louder than what the speakers can handle.

I get some kinda crackling noise too from my front right speaker. It was fine until after the shop installed my Xtant 4 ch amp. The speaker still sounds fine as far as sound quality but it like cracks or pops at high volumes.

I went over all the connections on the rear speakers because thats were the crackling is coming from. When i listen to it it sounds really good untill i turn it to around 40 which is kind of loud. I must have blown the speakers.
Thanks for the help.

How often do factories release faulty speakers?
also, is it crackling constantly now, or is it just when the volume is way up?

I found out the speakers arent blown. I have an RCA adapter so i didnt have to hook up the RCA wires from the amp to the deck because at the time I hooked up my amp i had factory deck. The problem was just two wires touching so i simply rewired them in electrical tape this time. Porblem solved.
