Rear Fill Speakers

OK
Im here for advice as usual. Im coming up to getting some money and looking into finishing up my audio system. The last thing that i have left to do is some rear speakers. Ive heard various things all around the specturum, no speakers rear fills or 2-3ways. Im also seriously considering a midbass driver only b/c i love midbass so much. THe problem is that i have to wish to amp them. Im gonna let these run of the stock yota amp. So im looking for something thats decently efficent at 20rms. Also I dont want it to overpower the fronts of course. Thats why im leaning towards the midbass drivers. My budget would be tops @ 100 lower if possible.
All comments welcome
thanks as usual
PS i know i had an old thread but figured it would be cleaner to open a new one

I voted nothing because you aren't running a surround sound setup for movies
If the clarity and loudness of those front speakers and amp isn't adequate that's what I would be saving up for to replace.

Cool Rear Speakers in General

Cam, lets say your not setting up a surround sound system for movies.
Then presume that sound quality becomes your driving factor.

Would your answer still be the same?

Electronic Parts Updated

In my situation I am setting up a system myself for a 2001 AC.
I've aquired a stealthbox
Alpine Head Unit CDA-9811
11 band Alpine EQ ERE-G180
3 way Alpine Spx-f17t components speakers 6-1/2, 5-1/4, tweeter
40 sq ft of E-dead SE for all doors
Two Diamond Audio D5300.4 300W 4-Ch Amps (have 2 more)

Was planning to use one bridged for the stealthbox and the other Amp for the 3 ways.
1 pair Alpine SPS-1629S 6/12 coax (perhaps for rear)?
Also have an old pair of alpine 6x9 subwoofers that could be refoamed

If needed I am open to obtain other parts to do the job right.....

Now pondering what to do about the rear speakers.

My first thought is put the largest speaker possible in the rear doors and plenty of sound deadner on inside and outside of the doors fitting plywood to mask the access holes in the doors.

Also was wondering about adding the Q logic with the 2 8's

My Motto: do it right the first time and you won't have to do it over...

Anyone else care to chime in?

Thanks everyone for your creative thoughts
They are much appericated

If you have a 3-way component set for your front stage, rear fill is going to hurt you. Noise cancellation will become a big issue, not to mention your inability to provide them with the proper power. It'll pretty much sound like crap.

My advice: just keep it front stage only and feed your 3-ways a good amount of power and you should be very satisfied.

You will not get noise cancellation, but you will need to time align the rears to improve imaging. For most 1 to 2 milisecond delay cant be heard, but I notice it right away. I myself dont have rear fill, for quite some time I did, my ear got so used to sound behind you, but once I removed them and got used to it, my system sound so much better now.

Yes. Mis-aligned imaging leads to noise cancellation. Go read up on the physics of sound waves. I guess I shouldnt've said noise cancellation would become a 'big issue' but that and phase differences are definitely something true audiophiles will notice in an install.

I know it messes up imaging but I have em for rear passengers(I turn off the subs),when I'm driving alone I fade out the rears to get the proper imaging.
