I'm thinking about getting the following system put in my '94 Corolla Hatch...

JL Audio 12" sub boxed.. $399
JL Audio 4" kickers.. $64
JL Audio 6"x9"'s.. $229
Cadence Amp $499
Panasonic Headunit(not decided yet as of the model) $????

look into an eclipse headunit....they have awesome sound quality
JL makes pretty good stuff but its pricey

i would use a 6.5" round speaker instead of a 6x9" but thats just me

are you planning on running all your other speakers off of the headunit?

cadence amp...great amps and wonderful quality...6x9....go with 6.5" speaker...more options and choices for models. the rest sounds good

JL is middle of road stuff, why are you running 4" speakers? Get a comp set.
