installing an LCD monitor

more specifically, how hard would it be and how do you to install a roof mounted lcd monitor?
or how much would shops charge for installing one of these?
any info/advice is appreciated

I wouldn't think it would be too hard. Looks pretty straight forward. I always rec. doing it yourself if you are somewhat capable of doing your own installations.

But if you do have it professionally installed I would just research what products are best for what you are looking for.

Are you looking for an all in one unit with the DVD player built into it, or are you using a seperate source?

Not sure if your interested in in car computers, but you can also get one's that have VGA inputs with touchscreen.

If not I'd look into a Pioneer or Alpine Flip down monitor.

Directed is making some real nice ones now, 10" and under a grand....pretty straightforward install too, just have to remove the linr totally and cut the opening below the roof supprt.

my 2 cents = roof mount is stupid youll be breaking ur neck to look at it get an indash or put a lcd on the dash and connect it through a ps2 or something ebay has some decent indash's check em out

ebay in dash....good...wtf???? Ebay is notorious for low end POS. yeah there are some good ones...but it begins bout the $1000 mark. The roof mount is OK for the rear passengers....keeps them quiet, but for the front...go with a good in dash Pioneer, Alpine, Eclipse, Kenwood......do a search for this one

last time i checked i saw some high end names for lower than msrp on it maybe crutchfeild.com has some for decent prices

there are some good deals on Ebay...but you have to do some hardcore research on the product, and the seller, o make it work...stay away from Pyle
