Sudjestions on 6x9's?

I have all of the gear im going to get all picked out and im going to order it soon ( after im done with school) the only thing i dont have narrowed down is the 6x9's if anyone has any sudjestions on these please let me know..

The specs im looking for include 100 to + rms rating and 4 ohms id like to stay below the $200 dollar range as well.. and on top of that, i dont really want some cheepo brand so give me what ya got here people..

In addition id rather not hear get comps or 8" or blah blah.. im getting 6.5 comps in the front and 6x9s in the back the way it came.. no if and or buts about it.. i know when i post up my system when its finished people are gonna think its wack but.. we'll see not because its bad stuff, but because its a variety of stuff kinda.. i dont know if this is the improper thing or not but.. ill do it they way i want and learn from my own mistake if its bad..

What kind of front components are you going with? It's best if you are going to be using rearfill to try and match the sound of the front speakers. So they "blend" well. Another thing to note, it's a good idea to use MDF rings cut to mount the speakers to, so might as well cut the holes to fit a 6.5" coaxial instead of a 6x9.

But either way, let me know what you got planned for the front and I'll throw in some things to look at.

im getting infinity 6.1 components as of now.. but i could be subject to others.. just not sure at the moment.. but that is what im going with if i dont see anything else.. as for the 6x9's i was gonna get the new infinity KAPPA693.7I but they have a 2 ohm load and the comps are 4 ohm load.. so i didnt think that would work.. i also was thinking of putting the JBL GTO 75.4II Multi-Channel Amp to the components and the 6x9's both having around 110 watt rms range.. and im just gonna have a different amp for my subs MTX 942 for the 2 infintiy 12.1's and thats about my whole system.. i decided im gonna go pretty much all out.. got 1500 dollars saved but would like to keep it down in the 1200 1300 range so i have a little left.. right now with all the stuff i put together it was about 1300 dollars for wiring, caps, and the equipment..

hell if you have a whole new system outlook fill me in.. for 2 12's, components, 6x9's, two seperate amps - one 4 channel and one 2 channel.. if you can build me an awesome system feel free.. im interested to see what is available for the amount of money i have saved

I've used the 6.1 components for about 6 months before I sold them. The midbass was weak and the high's were harsh and shrill. And I hear that alot from other people who have had them. For the same amount of money the Alpine spx-177r were MUCH nicer and has a more flexible crossover.

So do you have a headunit already or does that budget include a new headunit as well? What kind of equipment do you already have?

haha yea ive heard the same thing about these components... too harsh and shrill sound.. so you have to modify the db up so that it doesnt kill your ears lol.. and yea that mid bass things as well.. i do already have a Kenwood KDC-MP825.. but i have it in the sell part right now cuz it doesnt have enough preamp outputs.. only has front and rear.. unless i just leave the 6x9s un amplified and use reciever power lol.. but ill have to take a look at those components... oo and i forgot to mention that is all i have right now so i need subs wiring caps 2 amps, and possibly a new battery and alternator later.. but i already have an alternator and battery in mind so im fine with that

the budget ive given is for everything except the h/u

Alright. here's what I suggest, I think you'll be very happy.

Front components Alpine SPX-177r 230 shipped

OR you can go the DIY route and save money and get better results. This would require a good headunit such as the Pioneer DEH-P860MP(330 or so shipped) or a highend CD player with a flexible 3 way crossover.

For the mid get the Seas CA18RNX (H1215) 7"
http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/ind...mageField.y=10

With the LPG 25NFA Silk dome tweets
http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/ind....16415&pid=635

This combo will cost you about 150 bucks but will blow away most anything in the price range of 200-400 dollars. And will put those Kappa Perfects to shame.

http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=73

Then get a 4 channel amp to power this set of speakers.

Elemental Designs Nine.4 http://edesignaudio.com/product.php?...pid=10&cur=USD

185 with the forum discount http://www.edesignaudio.com/forum_discount.php

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...974264283&rd=1

That would be an awesome deal if you can get it under 300. 1200 watts of class a/b power (retail is 625)

Or if you prefer to go with more efficient power the eD nine.1 does over1200 watts rms @ 1 ohm. It's a class d though, the DLS will sound better, but drain more on the electrical system.

For subs I would go with two Ascendant Audio 12's or 15's, they're onlt 100 bucks each right now and have XBL^2 motors, which are supposed to give very good SQ.

2 atlas 15's with a DLS A6 would be so awesome.

www.ascendantaudio.com

So to recap, this is what I would do DEHP-860MP, Seas CA18RNX with LPG tweets, Elelmental Design Nine.4, DLS A6 for subs, 2 Ascendant Audio Atlas. That's about 1200 bucks. If you can't get that DLS A6, I can get a new one for around 420-450.
