Foam Types

Gonna do some foam real soon to kill some road noise and get some more heat/cool insulation.
Ive heard 3 names in this field
Ensolite- RAAMAudio has it for $20 for 28sqft and then some shipping

That thermozite looks pretty good, and it's 1/2" thick too.

Ensolite from Raamaudio is 1/8" thick.

I think what I'm going to be using is 5/8" Neoprene Closed cell foam like this(if I can find it for a decent price.

stuff you reccomended is pretty exspensive over teh other options. Same stuff your going for? looks similar. Thermo then, can get it locally i think
im also gonna get some expanding foam for the opp side of the jack hole thingy

yea your right. Went and checked some out, its just a ton of foil nothing in the middle. Picked up some expaniding foam gonna have some fun with it hehe

Be carefull with that, it can dent your panels.

The only area where expanding foam is usefull is on the trunklid, and in very moderate amounts, because the stuff will keep on spreading.

so i have read. Im using stuff that only expands 10%. caraudioforum had a big thread. make sure that you use latex stuff and so i am. I put some on newspaper. Barely expanded at all. using small amounts first. i shall update w/ progress

yea it didnt expand to much, need to add some more but for now its doing the job. If it gets hard enough i may try and carve out some forms to hold tools. If any one wants pics i could grab some
