connector: cd changer to RCA

I have been looking for this cable so I could directly connect my IPOD and sirus receiver into my stock HU through the cd changer input but damn. I cant find it for less than like 75$ on ebay. New, Pie and blitzsafe sell it for like a hundred.

I was just wondering if anyone has any specs on what this cable does. I would like to try to make it myself. It cant be more than maybe a dc-dc chip and a few capacitors and wires and connectors. all of that together is like 10$.

does anyone have any info on the signal the cd changer inputs to the HU? voltage levels? what the individual pins are? or may be blue prints?

I know that I cant be the only electronics nerd who thought of this. maybe we can make it a tn project. let me know.

I would suggest, to get something like and RCA spliter to split the inputs into the CD Changer, then get a;
1. Mini Jack to RCA Male cable for the Ipod,
2. For the Sirius RCA Male to RCA Male

Run that into the split input into the CD Changer,

As far as the pin goes im not 100% sure how that all works out but im pretty sure that somewhere in there, It has a wire to provide power to the Ipod.

thats my $0.02 on it, good luck

i wanted to direct connect my ipod to my pioneer hu but i didnt want to spend 100 bucks so i found this with plugs into you cd changer input in the back of the headunit and converts it to rca. Im not sure what the changer input in the back of your stock hu looks like but if it looks like this it should work. Also chekc alpine cause they make one that plugs into the back of alpine hu that is different that might fit yours. Here is the link to the site i got mine at

those look good and are priced well but those are for an aftermarket HU. I guess they charge a premium for the stock HU connector I still want my stock HU. Other HU dont have a clean fit in my opinion
