Amplifier mouting options

I was looking through car domain and found this:
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/678584

I was wondering how he managed to fit the amp on the backseat without hitting the plastic or metal behind the seat. I took some measurements earlier and there's less than 1.5" clearance between the plastic and the back of the seat...So that seems too thin to put the amp in there. That amp in the picure is about the same size as mine, so I am curious.

I also like how this guy has his amp mounted. Is this easy to do? The amp mounting I mean. It looks like Ijust need 4 really long screws/bolts and a piece of wood or MDF.

BTW, my amp is about 19" x 12.5" x 2.5". So it's slightly larger than 2 reams of printer paper placed next to each other
