Scion MP3 Player Questions

Hello,

After much looking, I couldn't find any specific answers to my questions, so here goes.

For starters, I own a 2001 Solara w/ the JBL system & single-disc head unit. I want to put the Scion head unit in my car. I understand it's plug and play for the most part.

I took my head unit out of the dash to inspect the back, and found the wiring harness, the antenna, and another wire that's right under the antenna. Does anyone know what this wire is? I couldn't find any information on exactly what it is (unless it's quite possibly a second antenna wire?). Second, after reading here, I may have a slight problem with the wiring harness. Since I have the JBL system, would the pin count be different from my HU to the Scion? I've inspected pics of the rear of the Scion HU, and can't clearly tell whether the same amount of pins are present. If it happens that it is different, is there a wiring diagram available so that I know how to hook up the prpoer harness?

Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

You should be able to just use those two extra harness' that is tucked away. They should clip right into the Pioneer Deck.

I don't think you will need an aftermarket harness for this situation.

Exxxxxxxxxcelenttttt. Thanks for your help.

Just to be sure, the extra harnesses that you speak of are the ones that seem to be plugged into something, correct? (they were the only others I could find in there)

Also, I'm curious as to what that second cable is that's under the antenna. Does anyone know? I always assumed it was a second antenna....

Yup, those are the ones. Don't know about the other cable you are talking about, it's been a long time since I've checked out the stock radio.
