Advice..

well im a noob at this so bare with me.
I have an explorer. I purchased two 10's from a buddy in bandpass box. They hit preety good as was impressed. Im not a huge bass fan anyways.. so they are this model http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/MTX-1...oductDetail.do

What amp or what sz amp would you recommend I purchase or look furthur into ? thanks guys

..wiring... you got two 4 ohm subs.. so i would wire them in paralel. that will make them combined for 2 ohms.. and the amp i showed ya was 2 ohm stable... so you should get the most power at 2 ohms....

btw... 4 + 4 = 2.. wierd to thinkabout i know... id explain it but.. im lazy... and i cant explain it very simply... im just a dumb electrical engineer that cant make things simple.. haha

lol ok well lets make it harder for u guys. Lets say this sytem bore's me and i want to upgrade to 12's. Im thinking of going ahead and buy a bigger amp.. So i can just upgrade subs and not subs AND amp.Wiring is still there etc.

guys follow me ? Maybe upgrade to two 12's.. What sz amp or what Wattage should i go after ?

It all about the power... the power rateing of the subs.. and the power output of the amp...


you wana try and match the 2.. if the subs can handle a constant 1000watts then you would want a amp that can supply a constant 1000watts..

if you under power subs then they will work.. they jsut wont work the best..
and if you over power subs.. thell still work... you could blow them or they just might not last at long...

two 10's with a 250 watt amp ? or should i do 400 watt amp ? reason asking my friend works at BB and he can hook me up with returned shit. Ill give him a call during my lunch break and ask. But hes gon ask me what im looking for.
