HU that display title of songs...

Hey guys whats the name of the feature on HU's that show you the title of the song your listening it ON THE RADIO. I know of the ones that gives you the title on your CD but i've been in so many jeeps that have a titles of the songs on the radio on their stock HU's. I know that sirus/ XM does it but i was refering to local radio's. I want it!!! please help me

Most CDs don't have the tags on them by default. You'd have to reburn them with the tags on.

yea.. a normal burnt CD doesnt have the info on it even if it already did in the first place.. if you change the Cd to a MP3 format while burning the songs will be tagged onto the Cd and most likely play of on your player.. yet most dont have that feature either.. i think it is ID3 tag or something like that too my kenwood mp825 has it..

To answer the question...

So far the only radios ive seen that display RADIO song tags are factory radios. My dads 2004 Dakota will tell you what station you are on, its name, and the song/artist will scroll on channels that support it. I dont know why we havent seen this technology move to the aftermarket world yet.

id3 tags is what its called when it shows the name for mp3's...

as for the radio, youre prolly gonna have to program it yourself, unless is sirius/xm

There's also CD Text for regular audio CDs. Anything that does ID3 v1 or v2 should do CD text as well.
