02 Camry rear deck speakers installation

Finally got around to installing new speakers in the back. They're Kickers 6x9's which are replacing set of CDT 6.5 coaxs.I must say they really sound good, way better than the CDTs.I always felt that 6x9's have more output than 6.5 especailly when amped & these Kickers put out way more bass.I'm actually thinking of put a set in my doors(please dont hate me).Antways, any questions feel free to ask, click the link.>>>>>>> http://photobucket.com/albums/v476/louski/

Cool

How about running the front Chameleons active and wiring the 6x9's off the headunit?

Have been thinking about that.B4 installing the 6x9's I actually hooked up the CDT's to head but I was getting some interference type of sound so I scratched that idea for now.I think I have to mess with the tweeter positioning some b/c they just seem to be so much in my face(not to mention ears ).Maybe dropping them down lower on the door panel , maybe coax style or up on the dash somewhere.Any suggestions?

You have them in the stock tweeter locations right? Maybe mount them in the kicks? Have you tried positioning them in different spots? Have you tried EQ'ing it down a bit through the headunit?

Maybe bridge the amp for the mids, then getting a small 2 channel amp for the tweets, reason I say that is because I know those mids like to have alot of power going to them(100 watts rms +)

Maybe if you were to send all of the available power of the 4 channel amp to the mids, then get a small 50 w X 2 amp or so for the tweets it will help balance it out.

Dunno.

Tweets are by the door latch (non-stock location),holes was drilled for the mounting of the tweets.I really like how they look in their present location ,guess I should've experimented for best sound imaging instead of going for looks.I've done all I can with the eq. with moderate results. If I move the tweets then I'll have a hole in the panel that somehow has to be covered someway.I got some old tweets that maybe I can use to plug the hole, maybe paint it to match the interior.I forgot to mention that I recently got back from repairs(K&B Audio.com)my 5 channel Directed Audio 11005d ,which will do all the powering.I really dont want to add anymore amps at this point. As for the interference I mentioned in the other post,I believe its b/c the power wire is running along side with the stock wires for the rear speakers. Anways I'll just move the tweets around see how they sound in different locations.Thanx for the input cam2x

Hmm, well I'd suggest before moving them to a diffferent location, try them active. I'm sure the amp has individual gain controls for the front/rear correct? Set the gains on the mids properly, then have the gains on the front(tweets) attentuated some. Might solve the problem.

Otherwise if you'd like some professional opinions on this matter get ahold of Jeremy Mullins @ ID, his email is jeremy@imagedynamicsusa.com
