That's just the amps and subs right? Not the box, wiring, etc.

Also keep in mind you'll probably be needing a H.O. Alternator, and possibly even an extra battery if you're going very high powered.

You're saying don't worry about the alt, etc..

That's all fine and dandy, but will it be upgraded and to what? We need to know how much power we have to work with.

RE XXX with eD nine.1 Should be under budget and will pound like no other.

Only need one of these bad boys in a ported box built to rec. specs.

www.reaudio.com

Or get an Adire Brahma with same amp.

search www.termpro.com for more rec's

Yeah I'd get the 15. My name is Robert BTW.

Um, give me til tonight and I'll find a reputable place to buy the sub. For the amp you know where to get that. Also RE just came out with a killer looking amp.

www.reaudio.com

Try giving them a call and they will put you in touch with an authorized dealer. And then try to negotiate with them.

Marv's number is 1-831-383-0308

American Bass VFL 15 in the biggest box you can build tuned to 30-35Hz

http://www.americanbassusa.com/

and a Crossfire VR2000D (2000 watt amp). Cost should be right around 1 K for both.

For 1000, you should just get a pair of RE SX 15"s... The XXX wasn't engineered to be a pure SPL driver...

Another (if not better) option would be to get a pair of Soundsplinter RL-p 12" (or 15"s if you think they'll be louder...). The RL-p's need a lot less power to get moving than RE subs (~ 500w rms per sub). That'll run you about $500 shipped (just call and ask for Mike @ Soundsplinter -- he'll hook you up).

As for the amp, like somebody suggest above, the Nine.1 is a great option. Also look towards Phoenix Gold (some of the best tech support I've ever dealt with) for a quality amp that puts out clean power.

Hope this helps [somewhat].
