do you have to plug it in to a 110 outlet (like mine) cause if you do, I don't think it'll work

youd have to get the proper power converter from 120v (110 wutever it is) to 12V for a car, plug that into ur lighter (which i dont reccomend, u should hardwire it) and then further get cables from ur amp to the sub....I dont reccomend ANY of this though simply because of the power required from basically any sub, its unstable in my book unless u had a heavy duty power converter that u could hardwire

Try to seat 10 ft away from the sub and see how well it pounds. Most computer speakers are over rated. They'll say its 100W but only putting out 10W. Remember, a 10" sub got 100W RMS and 200W Max power. You'll be lucky to get 100W Max from a computer sub. Last time I run my 12" in my room, the whole house shakes before I crank it half way.

First of all, wrong forum category.

In one word: no.

It's A LOT more difficult than you might think. You can't simply "plug it in" to a DC converter like somebody above me suggested. If you don't have an aftermarket headunit, you're going to have to buy a line-out converter and wire your powered-sub in line with your rear speakers... if you decide to get a separate amp, I have no idea what the impendance is on a Klipsch computer sub, but I don't imagine you squeezing a whole lotta bass out've it... let alone figuring out how to wire it.

Bottom line: Klipsch speakers are best kept where they belong -- on your computer desk.

I'm not quite sure why anybody would ever WANT to do this, since the 2.1 THX Klipsch system runs for about $150... You could get a decent car audio sub for that price and it would sound a helluva lot better. Why spend $150 on something that has no place in the car....?

Cool

I have two sets of klipsch 2.1's from '98-'99.

The satalites are as loud as my old 5" infinity refferance speakers in my old rolla, and are clearer and louder than my 3 1/2" infinity kappa's in this lexus dash. (Not nearly as loud, or as bass filled as my kappa 6.5's tho)

Depending on your power inverter, you might get dirty power. I tried to power my laptop in my car once using an inverter and the power was really dirty and looked nothing like a sine wave, not even a stair-step wave. I used it as my portable mp3 player by hooking it to the AUX in my my HU.
