'05 Tacoma headliner access

Anyone know how I can get the headliner down in the back? I just got a Sirius tuner and I want to run the wire for the antenna out the third brake light. It's a double cab if that makes any difference.

I had to take out the rear coat hanger things. The side pillar covers(rear's use a torx screwdriver)

The coat hangers are a PITA. iirc I had to twist them 45 degrees then pull them off.

You should be able to get access by doing that, but if you want to take the whole thing down you will need to remove all the side pillars and A pillars, as well as the front trip computer/sunglass holder compartment. Iirc the middle dome light will come down with the headliner, but check for screws holding it there.

I have an Access cab so double cab might be a little different.

Nice!

I was afraid to turn those hangers because they were so damn tight, but then I just said the hell with it and kept twisting. They finally did come out, and now they turn pretty easily. It looks like the side panel in the d-cab comes apart the same way as the pic you posted. I got by without having to remove it by fishing the wire down thru the top from under the headliner, then I took out the 2 screws on the bottom holding the panel and pulled it out far enough to get my arm up in there and grab the wire. Ran all the wires from the front under the door sills and I'm gonna eventually mount the receiver box on the inside wall one of the cubbys behind the seats, but for now its just sitting on the bottom.

The satellite radio sounds sweet! Now that I know how to take pretty much the whole damn interior apart, upgrading the spakers should be a breeze. When I get some cash to buy them that is lol
