Need some info/help before I purchase some speakers from Gen3cruiser
Ok My current interior speaker/amp setup is as follows.
I have 6 1/2" and 6"x9" Alpine Type S'. There from like '02, and weren't that great then. There like 2-30w rms and 120w peak and suck ass. To run these I have an Xtant 404m 200w 4 channel amp.
I want to buy some used Infinity Reference Series 6 1/2's and 6x9's from Gen3cruiser but need some info.
1st What will have to be done to use them? Just swap out the speakers? What about new connections? Difficulty of a DIY?
2nd Will my current amp handle the new speakers. (The 6 1/2's are 2-50w rms & the 6x9's are 2-100w rms and again I have a 200w 4 channel amp.)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You dont need to reset gains, unless you never set them properly. Are you using the built in crossover in the amp. BTW that is an awesome amp.
No idea. I bought it for $100 off a co-worker last year and had a shop install and tweak it. How could I tell. It's mounted under my passenger seat. I would really like to upgrade my speaks because mine are shitty and I don't need brand new ones just newer better one. Thanks.

Yea I think it does. My High Pass Filter is set to 80hz and my Low Pass Filter is set to 120hz. The possible settings are Flat>80hz>120hz>160hz for my deck (Alpine 7892).
I feel my High Pass Filter sounds better set at 80hz. When I set it at flat there's definitly more bass and sounds better, but thats with my sub off. When I turn my sub on it doesn't sound as good as when set at 80hz. Maybe i'm just not used to it sounding like that
My Bass Center Frequency is set to 80hz and the possibly settings are 60hz>70hz>80hz>90hz>100hz>130hz>150hz>180hz.
And my Treble Center Frequency is set to 12.5khz and the possible settings are 10.0khz>12.5khz>15.0khz>17.5khz.
Hope this made sense and hope you can help me out. Thanks.

Assuming the 6 1/2s that you're swapping are the same in terms of be either coaxial without an external x-over vs components w/ext. x-over, it should be a simple swap. Keep in mind that mounting points for the speakers may be different and require some drilling. No big deal, just something to prepare for.
change your low pass to 80 as well, if you have a sub change your center frequency to 60, treble center frequency is really preference and location of tweets, I dont know your car, so it would be hard for me to tell where to set it. High pass is correct leave it at 80. If you have all these setting preset, it is a simple swap out of speakers.

eddie...so even though my amp is a 4ch 50w per channel amp it'll be able to power 2 channels at 50w and 2 at 100w since the 6 1/2's are 2-50w rms and the 6x9's are 2-100w rms?? Won't the amp not fully be able to power them being it'll only power 50w per channel and the rms is 100w per channel for the 6x9's. Just wanna make sure i'm not gonna need to buy anything extra to make these work. you feel me?
The amp can be set a few ways though...
50W x 4 @ 4 Ohms
100W x 4 @ 2 Ohms
200W x 2 Bridged Mono Output @ 4 Ohms
I guess it's set at 50W x 4 @ 4 Ohms right now given my current rms speakers.
Whats the difference between 2 & 4 ohms.
Is that how it should be set to power the 100W rms 6x9's....HELP
How would I change the watt/ohm setting?
Gen3cruiser needs to sell these asap!
