They're both really good. The ID has a much longer history and reputation. The Avalanche however has gotten reviews from people who have had the IDMAX before and they like the Avalanche better. So..?

The Avalanche will require more power and a larger enclosure.

I'd go with an IDQ15 myself(that is what I'm planning on going with) Or and Arc Audio 15(a reworked IDQ)

The best place is sounddomain. There's the ID, IDQ, and IDMAX. The ID12V3's are louder than the IDQ12's, but you can get an IDQ15 which will be louder than the ID12.

The IDQ's are the better SQ sub but the ID also has extrmemely good sq as well.

Depends on which amp you are going to be using and how much space you are willing to give up.

I only want to run one sub right now, so the IDQ15 would work great in my application.

If you plan on running two subs I'd look for an amp that does atleast 500 watts rms. The IDQ15 will run fine off anywhere from 250 to 500+ watts rms

Check out the Image Dyanmics subs on Ebay then decide how much space you are willing to give up. And exactly what youd be willing to spend on an amp alone.
