lol this is probably one of the easiest actual "mods" to do.

Take a 0, 1 or 4 guage wire. Get 2 terminals and crimp them on ($1 each at home depot). Take that one wire and put it from the positive on the alternator (most liekly the top post) and put the other end on the postive on the battery.

take another wire (as above) and connect it to your negative on your battery and then any screw on your chasis in your engine bay

take a 3rd wire and connect it to any screw on your engine block (this is what the alternator uses as a ground most likely (fyi) and put the other end on the chasis on the car.

Took me about 10 min to do. I can get pics tommorow morning if you wish.

All you have to do is find the points where to connect the ends of the power wire to. Use 4 gauge wiring and Ring terminals.

Find the Alternator, it'll look like this.

Attach one side of wire to the positive post on the Alternator to the positive post on the battery. It helps to use a Battery Terminal which allows you to add wiring. Here's a simple one.
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=263-677

Use one of those on both the positive and te negative battery post. From the negative battery post you will make another length of 4 gauge wiring to connect that to the chassis ground. The battery will already have a ground going to chassis. You can add to that one, or make your own spot to ground the wire. Make sure to scrape away the paint on the metal.

The chassis to block you will have to find a good one, I'm not familiar with the Camry 4 Cyl engine. Here's a pick of someone's v6 block to chassis

It's probably best to mount an inline fuse between the batttery and the alternator(closer to the battery) You will want to match the same size fuse that is in the fuse box designated for the alternator. I'm guessing it is an 80 amp fuse, but might be wrong.

So in total you would need 6 Ring Terminals, preferably the nicer reusable ones listed above. Two battery terminals, an inline fuse holder with fuse and enough power wire to do the job.

And remember you add to the stock wiring, you're not replacing it. Very easy.

Pics would be a great aid for this, I would appreciate it if its not too much trouble.

As a side note...is there any way I could eletrocute myself? That's always my biggest worry when dealing with the battery. Yay sparks

Yes, there is a verrrrry slight possibility that you'll die. G'luck.

Haha, don't worry man. Unless you're doing this with the car turned on and opening up the capacitor, there's no need to worry about death by electrocution.

Disconnect the battery before doing ANY work to the system. Hook everything up withthe battery disconnected than connect the negative terminal when you are done.

Better idea would be to take the battery completely out of the car and put it 10 ft away. Then there's no chance you might even accidentally harm yourself due to electrocution. Unless for some reason you decide that you want to wet your hands with salt water and touch both terminals on the battery....

Still trying to find out what kind of amps my alternator puts out. I checked the alt itself and found nothing, but after checking online they listed parts for both 70 and 80amp.

Good news is I already have an extra MAXI fuse holder that can handle 80 amps, so that should be good to go. All I really need is the wiring+terminals and to find a place that sells 70 or 80amp fuses...and something to crimp it with :P

fuses won't help too much...just added protection for a dead short....do the big 3 and then call ohio generator (my winter project) they can make the alternator to your tolerances....100 amps and up....still about 650 bucks though

What? 650 seems entirely too much, even compared to other places I've looked at. I can get a 200amp alt for ~300.
