Laser/radar detectors

I'm looking in to gettin one of these cause I can't get another ticket and slowing down just isn't an option. I was just wondering what the range is for these. Do you guys use one? and do they work pretty well? Any info would really help. Thanks

Why is slowing down not an option? How much over the limit are you typically getting pulled over for?

I've heard that Valentine has slightly better laser detection whereas the Beltronics is a better overall detector. Frankly, laser detection is useless unless you have a full laser disruption system installed throughout the car, so I'd go with the Beltronics.

^^ x2

And like somebody above me asked...why is slowing down not an option? Is it an absolute necessity to violate the speed limit? I really hope I'm not recommending a good product to an asshole who does 60 mph in residential zones where my younger siblings play or somebody who simply drives recklessly.

note to self: do not be sarcastic in text-oriented environments.

Those things are a little too pricey for me. I think I'll keep my elven eyes (LoTR fans know what I'm talking about) open and spend that money on some subs or something.

I'm not quite sure how anybody could read into your "sarcasm". Granted, I may not be an English major, but let me be the 1st to inform you that your idea of sarcasm is a bit skewed. I'll trust that you weren't being serious, so I apologize if I jumped to conclusions.

And yes, I agree. Don't waste your money on a radar/laser detector. It's one of those things that can only prevent the inevitable from happening to a certain degree. If you're doing 95 on a consistent basis when everyone around you is going 70, have a military radar jammer on top of your car isn't even going to help.
