Anyone looking for 8" subs?

Get a 4 channel amp and wire 4 of them up.

so anything that can do 75rms or so per channel @ 4 ohm would work if he decides to do maybe 4 subs

I wouldnt recommend running 4 subs on a 4 channel amp? What the point in that? You're better off getting a 2/1 channel amp and wiring the subs in parallel....

^good luck finding an amp that will go down to about .5ohms!

Those subs are 2ohm, SVC. 4ch amp would be the best way to go.

Oh wow, I didn't realize they were 2 ohm SVC... (why, I don't quite understand). That limits your wiring options down quite a bit.... Thanks for pointing that out.

And when you find one that does, it'll be way too much power anyways

^yea, i was about to add that. lol, dont think the 8" woofer was designed to handle the power a .5ohm stable amp will put down.



The thread that was linked in the OP wasnt as convinced that they would sound good or make good midbass drivers, any theories on that?

Also, would installing these in the door pods of my gen2, and then installing some 3" midrange speakers in the dash sound good? My imaging sucks right now as it is, gen2's arent easy to get right. Ive got a component set divided up with the woofer in the door and the tweeters at the meeting of the dash and a-pillar. My system has very little midbass and id like to add on to it.

What kind of mids do you have in the door right now? Is the door deadened? How much power are you running?


It looks as if this wouldn't make a good midbass choice.

Right now ive got a Kicker 6.5" component set, amped at 75watt.

Actually, I do believe the old Sony Mobile ES amps were regulated to .5 ohm
