Anyone looking for 8" subs?

Check out this deal. According to this guy they are almost exactly the same as the older RE 8"s

15 bucks each

I'm thinking about trying them out in the front doors

Aren't RE8s designed to be a dedicated subwoofer as opposed to midbass? I've never heard RE8s in anything but a box, so I could be wrong.....

Yeah, but so are idq8's, and people use them for midbass.

I was going to be using the Peerless XLS 8 830491 as midbass.

But for 15 bucks each, it's worth a try

They were downfiring under the rear seats of an F-150. Reallllly small sealed enclosure... To be honest, it was quite boomy even without a single layer of sound deadening in the car. Drowned out his mids and highs, but I attribute that to terrible tuning.

I have a 10" Type R in a nice box I made myself but it is too bulky and heavy. I was thinking about getting either an 8" sub or a smaller box for my 10". I noticed truck boxes are thinner and seem to take up less space, what is the difference between a truck box and a regular trunk box if they have the same cubic in.? I don't have loud bass needs and for $15 doesn't seem like I can go wrong.

RMS wattage is about 100-125 watts rms. These are single 2 ohm subs.

What kind of amp do you plan on using? And how many are you thinking about using?

My friend is looking to add a little bump. Probably 2. He has a maxima, so it comes with the BOSE sound system. He doesnt have an amp yet and we will be building a box for 2

If you're getting two, use a reg 2 channel amp and wire them up in stereo like normal speakers. Look for an amp that does 75 watts rms x 2 @ 4 ohms.

Nope, you'd need a one ohm mono.
