Building a system

Hello evry one i was wanting to know what would be a good sounding system to put into an 05 camry price is not an object nor is trunk space. I was thinking ofgetting (2) 12" L7, pair of mb quart 6.9" for the rear deck other than that im still looking. I would like to put a set of 6 1/2" in the rear doors.

Rear speakers in the rear deck and doors? I almost had a heart attack.

Use that $ for the front system.

L7's are loud, there's alot better sounding subs out there.

I agree, if you upgrade your rear deck speakers there is no need to put in new rear door (didnt know camry had em) speakers. Get cleaner subs than kicker. Unless you just want loud bass.

If price is not an object that could be fun I would be considering something else than the Kicker subs. What's your realistic budget?

Are you having it installed or do you plan on doing that yourself?

Cool, 4k can build one hell of a system. You don't need to spend that much, but I don't condone it

First thing you need to figure is how much all the installation supplies are going to cost. After you have figured that out you can start looking into the rest of the equipment.

You'll need deadener I prefer raammat. It's 60 mils thick, and butyl based. For a complete (I mean complete) install i'd guess about 3 rolls would do the entire car. (maybe 4 )

Also look into using the Ensolite foam in addition to the deadener for sound proofing.

Wiring, battery terminals, fuse dist. blocks, etc. Can easily run up to 150 bucks for a complete install. I'd go with 0 gauge to the fused dist. block to 4 gauge to each amp.

Do you know if you want an A/V setup , with DVD or just a CD headunit?

Clarion makes good stuff. I don't have any first hand experience with it myself but they have a pretty good reputation for their headunit..

If you are looking for more control than what that can offer I'd look into the Alipne DVA-310 and the PXA-H701 processor. That combo can control an active 3 way front speaker system and the crossover for the sub too. The Clarion won't be able to do this without the use of an added electronic crossover, which cost's more, and can add noise to the system.

If you want to go all out, I'd go with the Alpine combo. For the money (1600 online for the two) it's pretty hard to beat for the amount of processing you get.

Your gen5 Camry has 6x9's in the front doors. My '05 Tacoma does too, and I think they are the same size opening. If so, I'd take advantage of that and run an 8" Midbass in there. Then make kickpods for a 4" midrange. For the tweeters you would have a couple of different options. You can put them in the dash facing up towards the window.

Here's an intersting read if you plan on doing that.
http://forum.elitecaraudio.com/showt...threadid=96808

Or you can mount them in the A pillar facing each other. You can also mount them in the kickpods next to the 4" Midrange(this is figuring you are even going to want to do kickpods, I don't know)

Does this sound feasible to you, or would you rather keep it simple with a 7" 2 way component system instead?

If your're up for it that would be cool, but it wouldn't be easy. Another option would be to do a dome midrange in the factory kicks. There's some out there that will fit in the factory kickpanels.

Either way, I'd rec. getting on a few forums like http://www.elitecaraudio.com/forums/index.php and just read as much as you can before you drop the cash.

If you want to go with a 3 way front component system that will definitely kick ass look into the Dynaudio System 360. You can mount the dome midrange in the factory kickpanel or higher up in the door if you want to fab something up.

If you want to save a bunch of money and go at it the DIY route, you can piece together components that will work well in your doors.

Check out www.diymobileaudio.com

Try to read as much as you can.

For subs, check out this thread, lot's of good rec's in there
