You might not like the style but these are good coaxials. http://www.cardomain.com/item/PIOTSD691R They can probably price match this.

When I was using rear fill, they sounded really good off headunit power.

What are you running up front?

You should just ditch the rear and spend money on a good set of components up front.

it's a shame that i don't even remember.. gimme a sec

Pioneer TS-A1680R's

I know those could stand to be better.. only reason i bought them is because i blew the stock fronts the first week i got the car... The Rears are fine but still stock... i was wondering if it would sound better if I got some Aftermarkets like the ones C2X pointed out.
BTW i saw those pioneers that you pointed out on eBay for $91.. it's such a wonderful place... i'll more than likely pick them up soon

What I would do is move those pioneer's you have to the rear deck, use an MDB adapter, then save up for a component set and an amp for the front's.

If what you are looking for is bass, then yeah, I'd look into getting maybe a single 10" or 12" if you don't want huge bass.

http://www.millionbuy.com/souexw10.html

That's a pretty good buy on a good SQ sub. A box shouldn't cost more than 40 bucks, and you can get a 2 ch amp for like 100 bucks.

If you want better highs and mids, I'd look into a set of components and an amp for them.

I had crappy duals for awhile, I only bought them by accident becuase I thought the cool box they come in was $150.. didn't know the subs were included. I do have a 12" Sony Xplod Sub awaiting a box. debating whether to use that. I don't mind spending more on subs, amp, HU and etc. It's just that I had a Spare $150ish around and wanted to buy something for my car so I can say.. I know where it went...

And I have a Kenwood Amp, but i think it's fried...won't turn on, guess i should buy another?

O.. that was a pain in the ass... I wanted to use the grill that came with the speakers, but if i did that. it'd be sitting on the door panel, and when i played music it sounded kinda shitty.
So i dug around and got the old basket that the stock speakers came with and drill holes I think for the pioneers to fit behind/in. but of course the grill that came with it wouldn't look lice back there too so i screwed it in the grooves that the stock grill was in. Hope that didn't sound too complicated... Oneday i may make the grills flush mount by widening the hole.

Best Buy?

Try to sell all your crap to local high school car audio n00bs. Turn the bass up, bump 'em, and show 'em off. I'm sure you'll get plenty of offers from kids that don't know any better. You're likely to make your money back which you can use towards a real system.

x2 on the Soundstream EXACT. I have a 10" myself and have heard nothing but good reviews about them. Still trying to figure out what car to put it in. Porsche 944 or Lexus SC? Sorry 'bout that digression.

What you should do:

New HU
6.5" components + 4 (or 2/1) channel amp
Sub + 2/1 channel amp

The simplest way would be to get a 4-channel like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

Have your comps run off channels 1/2 and bridge 3/4 to power a sub. My buddy has this exact setup (with the PCX-480) and it sounds great for the money.

Hope this helps a bit. Don't hesitate to post more questions. We're here to help.

Actually, it's sitting in a factory-sealed box about 10 feet away from me right now. I'm still not sure if I'll be using it for my SQ install. I may just sell it.

Sounddomain might actually 105% pricematch my employee discount (from Best Buy where I got the unit) so even if I sell it, I can always get another for cheaper.

In all honesty, I'm searching for a HU with 20 or 24-bit DACs for SQ purposes. I'm not really concerned about flash or features.

Also, if you're still interested...I have a pair of Alpine Type-S (model 2004) 6x9s that weren't used a whole lot. I'll let 'em go for $80 shipped. Perhaps, you'd be interested??
