No bass from Subs > ???

Alright, I hooked my Polk amp up to my MTX sub and I'm getting very weak, I mean VERY weak sound from it. What's up with that? If I hook it up to my MTX RT2100X amp, it hits WAY harder. Both are 2/1 channel amps, except that the Polk is much more powerful...

Here are some pictures of the amp:

What could be the problem? Why does it work with one amp (the cheaper MTX one) and not the other (the much better Polk one)?

Is it cause of my headunit? It has two preamp outputs, one set for the front, and one set for the rear. Do I need a HU that has a sub preamp output?

WTH? Anything I can do to get this working with my Polk amp?

Thanks.

This may sound like a stupid question, but is the switch for the gain set to high or low? If it is high gain you will get this. I had a problem where i had set my amp to low gain and only the woofers of the 6x9"s were working.

Does it have a remote bass boost? Is this a new Polk amp?

yea its a new polk amp.

i got it working now. i just turned the gain all the way almost and messed with the freq. but seems like my old mtx one hit way harder than this new polk one.

MTX = 200W RMS Bridged 4OHM
Polk = 450-550W RMS Bridged 4OHM

take it to an audio shop and ask them if they will help you find the problem.. i know ive asked them to check my wiring before and they did it for free.. as long as i showed them and they didnt have to do anything.. see if someone will do the same.. or maybe a friend..?

From this picture it looks like you have both of the positives hooked up. Or you are just using one channel to power the sub

You should be bridging the two channels into one channel. On the amp it will show you which channels to use to bridge the amp.

yea i did check everything possible and everything checks out, even went to my local audio guy and he says there is no problem. so . it still hit pretty hard, just seems like the old mtx did an equal job if not better. im guessing the subs capabability has reached its max with both amps.

Do you need 4 gauge power and ground wires, or is that 4 gauge?

Maybe it is not getting enough juice.

4 gauge would be best with that amp.

If you think the MTX amp does better for your sub, use the Polk amp for a set of components.
