Subs subs subs.. once again

Yep, you are getting sick of me, its cool.

Ive just been looking around at subs and all, trying to find the best in my price range, good spl, good sq.

It will be fed 600w x 1 @ 4 ohm. The amp is Diamond D5 600.2. Could use 1 really good sub 2 decent ones, whatever. Budget is like $200ish althogher, ebay shopping is okay. Im looking for your opinions on the ones I post. Also prefer dual 4 ohm voice coil

My original plan was to get Diamond D3 (CM3) 12" @ less than $99 per sub.
I also read a lot of threads, for atlas (too low of rms and all im thinking) maybe 1 avalanche? How about Soundsplitter, although couldnt find much info about it. Saw Eclipse for around $130 each with the same specs as the D3 diamond above. Although that may be pushing it in price.

dunno cant think of much off hand, i read so much yesterday, it just blended altogether

Model 2003 Soundstream EXACT's are $80 each (I think) on MillionBuy. But those are 10" so you're probably going to have to build a new box. If you don't mind that, then this would be your best bet.

Question: are you going for SQ? SPL? SQL?

Others to contemplate:

elemental designs Kv.2 .... There might be a coupon code floating around to save some $$ on these
Image Dynamics ID
Peerless XXLS ... you'd only have one
Alpine Type S ... used to own a pair myself and great for the money (got a pair of 10"s for $150)
Audiobahn AlumQ ... before I get flamed for recommending somebody Audiobahn, allow me to justify it. Older AlumQ's (NOT the newer-gen ones) were imo, the best-sounding subs Audiobahn ever made and sound great as far as budget SQ goes. You might be able to find these for real cheap... something to think about.

or.... if you want

You could get a quartet (that's 4) of elemental designs eu-700's (dual 2 ohm). They're $50 each right now and the look on some n00b's face when he realizes your four 6.5" drivers hits harder and sound better than his pair of Sony's will be priceless.

I can think of more, but lemme know what you think of the above first..

In the end, if you're going for an SQ setup, it really boils down to how well your front-stage is setup since your sub(s) are only going to be handling the low-low end of the frequency spectrum.

bro you want the best bang for your buck, find some lightly used Alpine type R's, you can get them for maybe around 100 each used on Ebay. Push them with a lightly used Fosgate BD series 501, youll blow any 2 diamonds out of the water with a good built box

Yes on the Type R. Pretty good SQL sub (2004 and earlier).

And a definite no on the 501bd. He already has a Diamond that does 600x1. The Fosgate is a great amp, but also take into consideration it's still costs upwards of $200 used on eBay. Not exactly the best bang for your buck.
