stock hu... impossible?

i'm installing a 12" sub and amp in the trunk of my girlfriends 2003 toyata corolla ce... After running and connecting power and ground i ran the rca's and remote... finally, i was going to pull her stock hu to connect them (remote, rca's to it) but it seems impossible to remove. I pulled the panel covering the e brake and shifter and am unable to remove any of the other panels... with the exception of the 2 ac vents surrounding the stock hu. i can see the screws holding the hu into the chassis and can touch them with my fingers but cannot find a screwdriver or drill small enough to remove them. I have a half stripped car here... anyone familiar with it? know a tool for the job? a trick of the trade? a bolt im missing somewhere which will give me more room to work with (though i think i've got em all)... thanks for the help

your best friend in these kinds of situations would be a haynes/chiltons manual

and I didn't know that the stock hu would come with rca outputs on a ce trim car???

stock units shouldn't have rca outs

you'll need to get an inline converter (high to low) to be able to hook up to the rca cable running to your amp.

does the amp also have a regular input? i know many might not recomend it, but i spliced into the rear speakers (didn't want to run the wires down the passenger side) because i wanted just bass and didn't need the amp for the whole system.

mine is a stock unit also for camry

ps pick them up at circut city, bestbuy, or your local stereo shop

and the remote? splice into your cigarrete lighter or any other 12v source you would rather use . i added a switch here so i could listen to the radio when the engine was off

try this link for guides:

I have a 2004 S and took out my head unit. Its pretty easy to pull out, but you need an 8" wrench extension (at least i think thats what its called). Also, i'm pretty sure the stock h/u dont have RCA outs. Mine definitely did not.

That should help you out.
