Under Dash Panels, and Dash Mats to stop reflections.
If anyone is interested these are a few of the tricks SQ competitors use to minimize reflections in the car and provide better imaging, and better detail.
It's not too much work but it does look like it would be worth it.
The first trick is very easy. Get a dash cover. The one's at your local dealer are about 35 bucks. And you can pick what color you want. If you don't want to go to the dealer, check ebay, and go here. http://www.global-accessories.com/dashmat/index.html
These definitely help and make a nice improvement to your system.
The second part is a little bit harder and requires a little bit of ingenuity.
I would definitely do it nicer looking. I'd probably cover it with a Fabric Grill material. You wouldn't really be able to see it unless you look under there. But with the fabric over it, it could look nice.
Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the dash covers...they look kinda cheap.
agreed....reminds me of the days where i see a kitten tissue dispenser in all the asian cars....you know..where they have a animal cover over their tissue box.
i don't know...but if you do it for competition, could you possible do the padding and then tweed or use whatever cover for the whole dash? would look better than a dash cover

I don't think dash mat's look all that bad. Especially on my truck, I think it'd look ok. But the fact that something so simple as a dash mat can improve the way your stereo sounds, then I think it's worth it.
Plus if you park your car in the sun, it protects the vinyl from the sun. That's always good.
i remember that on my moms celica the dash looked like somebody went in and cut it with a knife . doesnt the truck thats on raamm something website have a dash cover? i forgot the site ill look for it when i get home.
interesting, guess it looks like ass if you dont glass it and carpet afterwards tho. Seems like quite a bit of work. think im better off deadening the rest of the car

You wouldn't want to use fiberglass
The idea is to create a non reflective surface. You want to make it so it absorbs the sound waves and not have them bounce off. Use an open cell foam to allow the sound waves to travel through it, slow down, then be absorbed into a thicker absorbing foam. Then whatever is bouced off that, will have to try to travel through the first layer of foam.
