XM and Sirius are awesome... my bro's got it in his A4... 180+ channels or commercial free radio... and they don't play out songs like the stupid FM radio stations... only thing about satalite radio though is that you don't get any reception under bridges and inside buildings (ie. parking lot structures)... you have to be in open air to get reception.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.
I've got sirius in my Taco, no complaints so far. Installation is pretty easy if you've got some mechanical ability. I've got pictures of my install on here somewhere.
i've heard sirius is the way to go for the younger generation (25-30 and under) while XM is more geared towards the older generation (30-35 and above) obviously there are some exceptions...but i've heard good things about sirius..
We have XM at the place I work. I love it. It's like a mix tape, but better quality and well, it lasts forever. I don't really know about car installation, but for music wise I think it's fine.
Cammy4U2NV, watch your sig, it's a little large, might want to shrink it before you gets in trouble.
I dont think either of them are geared toward any generation. XM has been proven and Siruis still might go under... I've had XM for about 2 years and I love it... can't have a car without it now. It's great...But either way you go, it's pretty much the same. Same channels just different names.
The number of satellites has nothing to do with the quality of either service. There are some reception issues with each, because each deployed their satellites differently. XMs are geo-stationary. Sirius' are not.
I have had XM since last September and haven't listened to terrestrial radio since. I think it's worth the $$$
As for which, XM has much deeper playlists, and seems to cater more towards the "serious" listener. Sirius is more "popular" oriented, tending only to play the more popular music, with many more repeats. Either approach is valid, it just depends upon what one prefers.
