Can anyone help me out by telling the quality of rockford fosgate products, which is the top of the line and middle of the road. Looking to install a decent sound system in a 91 4runner, Nothing with a lot of bass, but LOUD!!!!
Old school Rockford Fosgate is absolutely awesome. Look for it on eBay. New school RF isn't quite stellar -- still decent, but a bit overpriced for what you get.
Im looking to do a complete system, front and rear speakers, a moderate sub and amp. I just want it to be loud. willing to put a good chuck of cash into it
Rockford went back to the old school method with there 05 amps, I understand that they are very underrated and the quality has been improved. Of course there are other amps to look at. If you have a chunk of cash, get some Tru Technology Tube amps, I think a pair will set you back about 5-6K. Im sure that will take a little chunk of your cash.

looking to spend around 1700 on a new system for a 2nd gen 4runner
Definitely a workable budget. Do you have any equipment yet? Are you partial to a brand of headunits? Does this 1700 dollar budget include everything like box, wiring, and all.
Also are you planning on installing yourself, or does that budget include labor for installation?
