Old school Rockford Fosgate is absolutely awesome. Look for it on eBay. New school RF isn't quite stellar -- still decent, but a bit overpriced for what you get.

What amp were you using to power 'em? What subs? And how much power were you feeding 'em?

What exactly are you trying to do? A subwoofer system? A complete system?

Rockford went back to the old school method with there 05 amps, I understand that they are very underrated and the quality has been improved. Of course there are other amps to look at. If you have a chunk of cash, get some Tru Technology Tube amps, I think a pair will set you back about 5-6K. Im sure that will take a little chunk of your cash.

Definitely a workable budget. Do you have any equipment yet? Are you partial to a brand of headunits? Does this 1700 dollar budget include everything like box, wiring, and all.

Also are you planning on installing yourself, or does that budget include labor for installation?
