Grille for high excursion sub with thick foam surround

Anyone know what type of grill will fit a high excursion sub with large foam surrounds?

A while back when AscendantAudio was clearing thier subs, my buddy bought two Avalanche 12s and gotta say those things are nice. But he wants some grills, preferably a heavy duty waffle type gril, just plain looking black color. The two audio shops in town didn't have anything that fit. One of them said they could order him two but they were really flashy chrome plate, Audiobahn style, and quoted him $60 each.

Anyone know anything cheaper?

circuit city had black mesh grilles for my 12 for like $12

keeps the kids from touching the speaker and keeps stuff thrown in the back from getting to it

cam2xrunner:
That black bar grill looks nice, but he's wanting more protection, thus the desire for a waffle grill. I showed him those already. His trunk does get used sometimes.

jungleman:
You have pics? The two local audio shops had waffle grills also, but they didn't fit because the surround would touch it.

That one from PartsExpress is the best you're going to find.

Better learn how to weld and get it powdercoated.

you can just build a ring up around the outside of the sub and use a normal grill
no need to buy anything fancy, if its purely for practical purposes
