4th Generation Pioneer Ipod Dock Help Please!!!

I have a Pioneer HU in my 99 camry and I recently purchased the dock connector to control my Ipod from the HU.

I am installing it myself, but I have one problem: I have to install the power to the dock connector to a constant power source (no matter whether the car is on or not). Does anyone know of a wire I could connect to near the center dash that could power it? Before finding out I needed a constant power source I had wired it to the cig lighter power and it wasnt working from that.

Any help would be much appreciated

Pull out the stereo and tap into the 12V supply.

explain "don't exist"...what is it supposed to do? what is supposed to happen if you had everthing connnected properly? And are you sure you got the appropriate HU?
You don't meant that the Pioneer just as an AUX IN jack?

My Ipod is supposed to show that it is connected, and I should be able to choose Ipod from the list of inputs to my HU. Yes my HU supports Ipod docks, so there is something wrong.

The stupid thing is is that there isnt a light or anything on the ipod dock that shows that IT is getting power and working

Basically I should turn on my radio and my HU and my Ipod should be saying they are connected to each other.

I have a pioneer head unit, and to use the AUX input you have to specifically turn it on in one of the menus. Not sure if that's your problem, but something to check.

Thanks for the help, but the ipod dock connector isnt part of the AUX.

I know what you are talking about though, mine is the same way for AUX, thanks for the suggestion anyways
