This is for all the folks on this forum who appreciate the minimalistic beauty of old school car audio equipment and not that chromed-out bling-bling Audiobahn crap.
Behold, one of the original, JL Audio Reference series amplifiers from the early 1990s:
This will be going on sale sometime within the next few days -- after I get over my nostalgia. I am entertaining all REASONABLE offers on this rare piece.
Specs are as follows:
50x2 @ 4 ohm
100x2 @ 2 ohm
200x1 @ 4 ohm bridged
If ever there was an opportunity to own a piece of history, this is it.
I am entertaining all REASONABLE offers on this rare piece.
What do you feel is reasonable for this? I have no set dollar figure that somebody needs to offer me in order for me to sell it. Please keep this to PM, AIM or Yahoo.
I grew up with Amps like the Rockford Fosgate Punch 75, Punch 150, Power 650, Power 1000, Alpine 3522 (I think, about 30w x 2), Linear Power, Orion 2350 (that was a beast!), Pyle A200, Pyle A400.
That was back in the mid 1980's. I had a job at a movie theater, and a friend had a job at a stereo store.
I still remember my first system -- A Kenwood cassette deck with a Sony Discman wired through the cassette adaptor, a Kenwood crossover, an Alpine 30w x 2 amp on a set of Phase Linear 5.25" door speakers, Punch 75 on a pair of Polk Audio 6x9's in the back deck, then a Punch 150 on a pair of Eminance 10's in the trunk. It was in a 1976 Oldsmobile Delta 88. Had the stock deck still in place, then the Kenwood in the ash tray. (I loved that big old ash tray..) Then I bought a Alpine CD Player back in about '87 that I paid over $500 for. My brother still has that same Alpine in his truck!!
I wish I never sold those Power 1000's and Power 650's that I had just after that....

Old school as in "at least I was born when this stuff was around." I was still crawlin' around in my mum's womb when you were playin' with your [real] old school RF stuff.
