Performance Teknique Speakers

Hi I am new to the car audio systems and dont know too much.

I picked up a Panasonic CQ-C7401U head unit and some 400W Performance Teknique Speakers. I was just wondering if anyone has used Performance Teknique speakers before and what they thought of them.

Also the speakers say 400W per pair but the deck says 50X4W but has a pre amp. What kind of Watts am I getting?

Please Help im new!!!

Going to need more info.

I think thats 400w peak, which in all retrospect, doesnt mean a whole lot. What is the RMS on your speakers? The Headunit is roughly 23w RMS. Preamp? you mean the amp thats in the headunit right?

From what I know.. you can answer your own questions, what will you run at? 50w peak on all 4 speakers.

preamp outputs is what u mean. REDPHOENIX is right about the 23watts rms that the headunit will give. i say ur speakers probably handle about 75 watts rms. ive never heard of that brand.........

Performance Teknique = eww.

I really hope you didn't spend a whole lot of money on those If you do decide to keep 'em, expect to send anywhere from 16 to 25 watts RMS to your speakers...

A more powerful external amp will definitely make a nice differece. But are you able to return the PT speakers? There is definitely better stuff out there.
