not unless you got two subs with four ohm can you get two ohms. and i dont recommend doing it like that picture. id say just bridge it so it will run four.

Yea that sounds really sketchy esp. your sub is SVC. :-?

Bridging will give it more power, right?

yes but it will still run at 4 ohms since the sub is 4

There are no negative effects of bridging, but what you've shown will NOT work. The transistors in the amplifier don't work that way with the +'s and -'s. You should just use the outermost + and - terminals to bridge the amp, otherwise, you may damage the amp and/or sub.

Also, you don't "bridge" a mono amp, you "load" it down. So if a mono amp is rated at 150W @ 2-ohm, you can have two 4-ohm subs in parallel.

Nope.

If you want to run at 2ohms you have to:

1. Buy another 4 ohm SVC sub and wire both subs in parallel.

2. Buy a 4 ohm DVC sub and wire the coils in parallel.

3. Buy a 1 ohm DVC sub and wire the coils in series. I've never seen a 1 ohm DVC sub though, so i'm just using it as an example.

So does my Linear Power 8002. One of the sets of outputs has no wires going to it (I took the bottom cover off the amp and looked at it).

75 watts.

You want to use the left + (positive) and right - (negative) terminal on the amp. This applies to most mono amps and stereo amps (running in bridged mode), unless you have a amp with some weird wiring.

Anyways there should be a label or something on the amp that tells you which terminals to hook the speaker up to.

Like 88LE said, your amp will only give out about 75W when you bridge it. Most manufacturers are likely to post their rated power from a 2-ohm point of view, so when consumers see that larger number, then it becomes a selling point. Also, look for other ratings which include a 20-20kHz frequency response. Again, manufacturers can post something like 500 watts @ 1kHz, but that's not the true power output throughout the entire band.

4AWG power cable is way overkill for that amp. It doesn't hurt to use it though.

75w/12v = 6.25 amps. P (power) = I (current) x E (voltage).

Some good rca cables. You don't have buy the $80 ones unless you want to, but on the otherhand don't skimp and buy some cheapo $5 ones.
