Little Diamond Review... D612 and D5600 - new Video Added!

Many of you know I hav ebeen redoing my system. Well today was a good day, I finally got to test out my new Diamond D6 12" DVC2 sub and my Diamond D5600.2 amp on my new Pioneer DEH-P770MP! <-- btw a really good headunit for the price of $180!

I have no "real" test results, so all I can do is just tell you what I think about it.

The Diamond D612 sub. Amazing sub for the cost of $182 shipped. It has a high excursion cone with a great roll off bass. The sub has extreme clarity at high volume, and suprisingly with the gains set properly at about 85% volume (highest I tested it) the clarity was just as good as it was at abour 20% volume. Im sure the great amp has to do with that too, but anything helps! The box was a 1.1cf square. Double baffle, 3/4 mdf. The bass on this thing is amazing. Says its rated for 600w, so I hav emy d5600 pushing its max, which is a little over 600, but a lot of people say it comes alive around 800w and I believe that these subs are underrated too. The bass is so much, my trunk lid raises now near the hinges and the rear deck bounces up a lot now, well thank god I have raammat coming

The Diamond D5600 is also a great amp, I picke dthis up for $180 shipped off caraudio.com but you can get these for about $195 shipped on ebay. This amp does 600w @ 4 ohm bridged (great for you SQ people) which makes it a class AB amp. It has an amazing onboard crossover, so you can control almost anything to you imagination. Not much else I can say, but this amp gets a little warmer than my likings, thats my only complaint, but it is a constant 95+ in FL, so I guess it makes sense.

Here are some pics of my test setup. Its just a test, not looking great, but i have some bass so thats all I care right now . The football keeps the box from sliding forward fyi.

The excursion video isnt the best, I did this at night in a residential place, so I cant be that loud

Excursion Video

LoL, i just relized the camera slides on the battery cause of the vibration

is that a sealed or ported box?

and when its a Dual 4 ohm, you just use one set to get the 4 ohm input right?

Just a single for now, to be completly honest.. its WAY MORE than enough for daily driving, really. But when im done with this trunk 1-2 weeks, its going to have a false amp floor, another amp box on the right of the sub box, optima red on the left side of the box, false side walls. few other things, i cant think of right now for some reason.

Sealed 1.1cf

No if its a dual X ohm you use both.

I have a Dual 2 ohm, I wired it so its in 4 ohm on my amp.

Cool bro. Two things, bolt that box down :O Or at least use Heavy Velcro(cheap), second are you still using the regular car battery back there? Not a good idea man. Especially now that you have an amp back there that can cause a spark if a ground wire is loose or something. Like I said in the other thread KABOOM.

Dont worry cam. All of this will be changed in less than a week. My battery (the optima) will be in its own box sealed away from the amps and all.

And yes, it is a solid sub
