Gen5 Battery dies in 2 years...

is my system to blame for this? I have a 03 camry v6 and i am running a jbl bp600.1 and a alpine 9833. Is it possible that it killed my 2 year old battery so soon?

I'm sure it helped to kill it a little bit sooner. Do you ever bump with the car not running? Just use it as an excuse to get a Stinger or Odyssey

I think they're better than Optima's,. What I really like about them is the fact that the battery posts are near the edge and front of the battery. This means you won't have to go through the trouble of doing this.

Since I can fit it, I'm going to go with this monster.

or this

The US Military uses Odyssey/Hawker batteries for their Helicopters and Tanks. Not Optima.

FYI, even Optima are prone to death...of course. My yellow top died after about 5 years even with just stock stereo, never got around for the stereo build even though most equipment are available. It was used as a starting battery. There IS a reason why the yellow top has 1.5 years of warranty, whereas the red top has 3 years.

I would use another yellow top ONLY as a secondary battery to power the stereo, don't recommend it as a starting battery. Likewise for those Stinger, etc., batteries.

Everstart is good....Optima is overhyped and stinger is over priced. Your pick.

i got a duralast from autozone (it has a 3 year replacement warrenty).... anyways.. i was thinking of causes of this... and I was wondering if not driving my car for about a month could be a cause of this? I was on vacation for a month and came back for 2 weeks and left for vegas. So i did drive prior to the long road trip but not very distant.
