Avalon Power Question

Hey folks! I have a question about a 96 Avalon.

I currently have an aftermarket head unit, stock amps and speakers, and a 600W sub installed as well as running a laptop and CB radio. I'm noticing some power problems with the laptop when I have everything on, like the car doesn't have enough power for everything.

My question is, is it possible to replace the alternator with something with a little more kick to it, to suplement the car's power?

Thanks!

Do the BIG 3

Get a bigger alternator

Get a nice deep cycle battery

Try it!

For a cheap alternative for a stronger alternator a Highlander V6 w/Tow Pakage Alt should bolt right on. It's rated for 130 amps.

I think the problem is the power supply for the laptop, what kind of power invertor are you using for your laptop?

corrected by the cam. Unless the CB takes a crapload of power then then you should be just fine. turn the sub off and then look at the laptop, if that makes the difference then mabye you have a point otherwise ccheck the rating of the ac adapter and then of the inverter.
