I matted the back deck metal with 2 layers of raam, but the actual woodish carpeted deck part rattles really bad. What do you sugguest I do? I have about 10ft of ram left, should I try that on it? Should I use some generica foam between the metal deck and the wood part? to apply pressure? this would actually work I think.
easy solution, 1 get a tube of silicone and put it on the scres on the back of the deck (they rattle loose and make a hell of a noise. Also, silicone or tape tthe holes for the clips on the back of the deck cover....metal abrasion is bad. Lastly, and probably the most effective, put seatfoam under the deck to keep it from rattling at all......your welcome
make a new deck out of some ply or mdf. then bolt it inplace. shit wont rattle then.
uhh....you're joking right? a rear deck of a gen3 would be a whore of a job, easy enough to cut but a fuckload of sanding and trimming, and MDF resonates too....trading 1 problem for another
ok, whatever. just a suggestion, im sure you're vast knowledge of wood fabrication has proved me wrong. not that i have any experience with making one....cause ive only done 3 of them for various cars and never had a problem...but thats just me. Funny joke wasnt it?

I was merely stating that gen3's have shity angles and you'd end up sanding until the end of time on it.....I'm not flaming ya or anything, just poiting out an easier way to get the same result without so much custom work, and beleive me, I use a LOT of MDF in the car....the pics don't lie
actaully...there's a fairly simple solution to your problem....
towels....lots and lots of towels....get enough to fill up the entire space, and have it kind of push against the wood board so that it bulges out a bit more than if there was nothing underneath.....it should stop rattling then...or at least it did for me when I had 1200wrms through two boston acoustic 12s
