Need an amp to power this sub

hey,

finally going to change my amp powering my sub. the sony amp i am using juse seems undepowered.

the sub i have is one 10 inch and more infor is available on the line below

Wht amp would ull recomm to power this sub.

budget: $200 canadian.

any other site outside of car domain. because car domain doesn't ship many brands to canada.

I'm lazy, what is 200 canadian equal in usd?

Also what Sony amp do you have, and how is it wired? What ohm config. is your sub?

I dont understand that sony amp shouldnt be underpowering. Lets be realistic the infinity sub doesnt do exactly what its rated so since ti says 250 id prolly say round 225 lil less.

You're right there, but itwill take more than what it is rated for, not less. Those are decent subs.

yeah and depending on what sony amp he has it should work fine. Sony XM 2200GTX should work fine.

i am currently using a Sony XM-2100GTX. the infinity sub is rated at 250W rms while the sony amp is rated at 250W RMS mono @ 4 ohms. more info on the sub is avaialable on the original post.

I have to turn the bass boost to aroung 5 to 8 to get some good bass. But i am afraid that that much bass boost is going to blow my sub quick.

You can try to find a Diamond D3400.2 on ebay. That's a good amp. 400 watts rms when bridged, 4 ohms.

My best advice is to post up a WTB ad on a few car audio forums, esp. www.elitecaraudio.com

You'll probably get some nice offers.

I only shop car audio products on Ebay and Forums. I also never buy new, unless it's a really smokin deal.
